Wedding Flowers!

September 3rd, 2010

Jess & Robs wedding has been a huge success. There has been interest from wedding blogs, then published in The Guardian and now a “Real Wedding” feature in “Wedding Flowers” magazine. You can see my original blog post of the wedding here CLICK. I am not surprised lots of people wanted to get their hands on this stunning wedding as Jess and Rob made it totally unique with the help from a few fabulous suppliers!

Florist – The Flower Fairies

Cake – Petit Gateau

Dress – Sassi Holford

Venue – Tythe Barn

Also adding their own personal touches with hand made wonka bars and sister of the bride singing to the couple during their ceremony. This was a beautiful wedding and I am so pleased that Jess and Rob have had the exposure from it they deserve. Thank-You to all at Wedding Flowers for publishing another wedding of mine!

THE GUARDIAN – feature!

August 25th, 2010

Hi all!

Back in May I shot Jessica and Rob’s wedding at the Tythe Barn in Bicester (view the post here). A short while after the wedding Jess got in touch and said that The Guardian were running a Wedding Guide towards the end of August and that they were interested in using my photographs. I was absolutely made up to hear this and was bursting with excitement. I kept the news on the low down as wasn’t 100% sure that it would come off and didn’t want to end up looking silly if it didn’t. Well……. it did!

Today I rushed to the post office to pick up my three reserved copies of The Guardian and quickly flicked though the paper looking for my shots. I could have cried when I saw it – I was so pleased and actually felt quite proud of myself. When Anthony got in touch with me and asked for some shots I was excited to see what they had chosen. You tend to find when you get magazines run features they dont always pick your favorite shots as they have the reader in mind and what they want to see. The shots Anthony had chosen were not my favorites so after sending them I thought to myself  I have nothing to loose. I sent another email with a few more shots attached just explaining that they were my all time favorites however understood that the article needed to look a certain way. When opening the paper this morning I was amazed to see they had used the shots I had sent making me love the article even more.

Its a funny game weddings as you have the privelege of witnessing couples on the happiest days of their lives sharing their precious moments and celebrations. This morning I had my own little precious moment and finally got to share something I am really proud of with the rest of the nation and thats my photography.

Thanks to all that were involved, I’m one happy girl today!!

Sylvia & Dan Engagement Shoot!

August 25th, 2010

Quite a while ago now I photographed Sylvia and Dan in and around the village where they live in Wilden. Sylvia and Dan only met me this year and booked a few months back. I was thrilled when they told me they were going to use me for their photography as the wedding is at Notley Abbey. This is a stunning venue and one that i have wanted to shoot at for some time now.

Sylvia and Dan were a pleasure to work with as they were fun and laid back. They were very pleased with the shots and have bought some extra prints for them selves which I think is always a good idea as its nice to have some casual but professional shots of yourself around the house.

I have already shot their wedding and will be posting it in a few weeks. Notley Abbey and their fabulous wedding day certainly lived up to my expectations.

I’m Back!

August 24th, 2010

So I have finally returned. There has been a lot going on over the past month with the move to the new studio and switching all my web hosting over to someone new. August has been very busy and to say the least a little stressful. I have felt cut off from everyone with no phone line, no internet and no blog hence I have not been a able to communicate much with my clients. So the first part of this blog post has to be a huge apology to all those that have been trying to get hold of me. I am sure you can understand being left at BT’s mercy is not a great position to be in. The phone line is due to go in on Thursday so I am hoping that there is no further complications and I will be back in contact with the world. In the meantime you can call my number as I have a divert set up and am able to pick up messages in the evening (01525 860862).

So to tell you all about the move! It went very well and my boyfriend Daz was absolutely super. He loaded the car, moved things, drilled holes in the wall and even spent his Friday evening at Ikea collecting furniture for my new place! Despite the stress of the phone line everything else went well and I am now all moved in set up and fully functioning so if anyone would like to pop over for a nosey or appointment please get in touch. As you know I had the launch on the weekend of 13th/14th August and it went very well. Old clients, new clients, friends and family all turned out in the horrendous weather to offer their support it was so humbling! I would say over 100 people came through the door over the two days and I still have cake, cookies and little gifts to remember the day by!

All the businesses at The Courtyrad were so impressed by the volume of people that came we are hoping to do another open day at Christmas. Thanks to everyone that supported us and came along!

Next will be to blog like mad to try and catch up with the back log of shoots that I know brides cant wait for me to post! Also a few images of the new pace will be coming soon. Watch this space!! xxx

As I am sure a lot of you facebook and Twitter followers may have gathered by now I am moving into a premises THIS WEEKEND! It is very exciting times as I  have been looking to spread my wings a little bit however wanted to wait for the right thing to come up.

Well it did and although i am only moving down the road it is a beautiful space that i think will be great for me and the business. With having to pick the whole office up and put it somewhere else means I may go off the radar for a week or so so just wanted to let everyone know the reason why. My phone line as it stands 01525 860862 will be remaining the same but is being moved early next week. If people need to get hold of me urgently you are welcome to contact me on my mobile 07545002954.

For those of you who have viewings booked in next week – they are still on and all booked in so don’t worry! Once everything is sorted and I am all set up I will be sure to post some photographs of my new space however if you would like to come and see it for yourself you are more than welcome. I am having an official launch on the 13th and 14th August and hope to see you all there for a glass of wine, a chat and bite to eat.

This is my last blog post in my current little office which is quite sad but very exciting. See you on the other side!!!

Bruges

July 30th, 2010

My boyfriend Daz bought me a trip to Bruges back in May for my birthday. Last weekend we hopped on the Euro Star for our weekend away. I didn’t really know what to expect about Bruges as don’t know that many people that have been. I am a big fan of the film however don’t feel you can get enough of a place from seeing it in a movie.

I was totally blown away by Bruges with all the lovely canals, stunning buildings and very friendly people. A friend had said that you can smell chocolate wafting through the streets. Indeed you can it was lovely and the chocolate lived up to the expectations.

The horse and carriages trotting though the streets made it really romantic and there are great restaurants to eat out in at night. You can easily meander around the whole city visiting little antique markets or choose to hire bikes like we did. It is a very relaxing place to go as there isn’t a massive amount to do so you feel very recharged by the calm and friendly pace of the city. Thank-You so much Daz for a wonderful present – I would recommend Bruges to anyone that needed a quick, easy and relaxing break!

I also saw a wedding dashing off in a VW beetle so grabbed a few shots. For the photographers – I only took my 50mm lens. The night shots are taken on my G10!

by alex – The New collection

July 28th, 2010

You may remember a while back me posting about my good friend Alex and her beautiful country inspired hearts, cushions, cupcakes etc. Alex has been beavering away this year and luckily for you her product is available in shops all over the country. Lasso the Moon, From Britain With Love and Not On The High Street are just a few places that stock her gorgeous country treats.

With a new collection all designed it was about time we got round to doing another shoot. CHRISTMAS – yes I know don’t kill me as I know its only July (well almost August) but designers have to think about these things and get there product range sorted well before the date. It felt quite odd finding some Ivy, lighting candles and hanging stockings on the fire place however I think we managed to pull off the Christmas look quite well considering its middle of summer. My house was filled with draft excluders, cushions, tree decorations and little christmas parcels, it looked so bare when Alex had to take it all home!

by alex will unveil her new Autumn/Winter collection at the gift trade fairs later this year but for those of you that would like a sneak peak sooner check out below. Any bow fans will truly love this collection – I certainly do!

Vince is never far away when I’m shooting!!

Kathryn & Mark Engagement Shoot

July 26th, 2010

I met Kathryn and Mark last year when Kathryn was in late stages of her pregnancy with a little girl. We all decided it would be best to wait until their little bundle of joy had arrived before doing their pre-wedding shoot so she could feature in the photos. I went last week to see them and couldn’t believe how much their lives had changed since beautiful little Evie had arrived. Kathryn looked radiant and both herself and Mark looked so thrilled that little Evie could feaure in their pre-wedding shoot.

It was quite a warm evening so we decided to start off at Kathryn and Mark’s house and then move onto a corn field to get that lovely low warm sunlight. The couple were great at positioning Evie wherever I wanted her. Us photographers are so light driven and often where we want our subjects isn’t ideal but Kathryn and Mark were very obliging. There was lots of smiles all round with the help of Evie’s little bunny rabbit! Im looking forward to the wedding later this year.

Leesa & Az

July 21st, 2010

On a very hot friday afternoon Leesa & Az got married at Wrest Park in Silsoe.

They both decided to have a humanist ceremony which was very laid back but had a nice feel too it!!

Leesa & Az live in Dubai but originally come from Bedfordshire, so they were only back for a short while to get married and to celebrate on a European honeymoon.

Leesa’s mum grew all of the sweet peas for the bridesmaids bouquets, which looked super good against the hot pink coast dresses that they wore.

Now the couple have returned to Dubai, I’ll soon be making a start on their beautiful Queensbury album.

Nat & James

July 9th, 2010

You may remember this couples pre-wedding shoot, as it was a colourful affair involving cupcakes, balloons, bubbles and some sexy shots in an ice cream van. It also got featured on the amazing and hugely addictive Rock My Wedding blog.

James and Nat had a wonderful intimate and emotional church service and then went onto Pendley Manor for their reception.

The day was full of happiness, loving families, more bubbles (with a bubble car) and chalk board fun! James and Nat are a young fun couple which was all reflected so well in their day. Nat had picked a bright cerise pink for the colour theme and had laid on a retro pick n mix for all the guests and children that attended. Their selfless characters even extended into ordering a big screen so all the guests could watch the England vs America game as soon as the speeches were done!

I felt so honoured to be a part of their day and wish them both a future full of happiness, health and lots of laughter.
