Print orders!

Well we have had snow on the ground and some pretty chilly weather, so I am hoping you are all feeling quite festive by now! Obviously with Christmas fast approaching we all need to think about pressies and what lovely gifts we will be purchasing for our loved ones. As you tear open that Christmas paper with huge anticipation of what’s inside what lovelier gift than a photograph. Something that will last forever and go out on the side for all the family to see and enjoy. It is a very personal gift and can really make some one’s day.
Quite often I will get an old box of photos out and look at the hideous outfits I used to wear, and think about the funny things I used to get up to. For me there is nothing nicer than getting all nostalgic and reminiscing over events in our lives. Its sad but with the digital age we are slowly loosing having something physical and tactile to smell and touch. We sit looking at a computer screens browsing images, which i don’t feel is as special as holding something in your hands. When going through my grandparents old photographs taken on their box brownie, I love to look at the vintage colours and rounded corners on the photos. However beyond that I love looking at what they wore and how they had their hair and the places they went to. I always try to print as many pictures as I can as I love the idea of my great grandchildren looking at pictures of me one day and considering what my life was like. You will never take away how precious photographs actually are.
So without getting to emotional on what is meant to be a happy “Christmas blog post” I wanted to get you all thinking about pictures and placing any orders you may want for christmas. This is the last week to do so in order for me to gaurentee everything for you in time. Should you want to buy anything from the online galleries please go to this link.
If anybody is unsure about their password or needs a reminder do not hesitate to email me binky@binkynixon.com
Things tend to get quite busy now and (dont worry I am guilty of it to) people leave things to the last minute. I feel really bad if i am not able to get things out to peple when they were hoping to have it for Christmas, so lets get organised and place them orders.
Lastly, just because I do not like doing a post without a picture, here is one of the designs from my Christmas cards. There are 6 in total and they will be winging there way to you next week. Thanks for reading and Happy Shopping. xxxxx
Sylvia & Dan

Sylvia & Dan got married in August in my favorite wedding venue. I had never shot at Notley Abbey before and I was totally blown away by the beauty of the place. It is stunning and has so much charm with all its wonderful history. The toast master was explaining that Sir Laurence Olivier owned it and Vivien Leigh planted all the gardens there for their own wedding. It is the only house in the UK that Marilyn Monroe has stayed at and they have named a room in her honour! I bet that place has a few stories to tell.
Sylbvia and Dan’s wedding was intimate with around 60 guests but this was no reflection on the lively buzz that the wedding created. Their guests all looked wonderful in bright colours and fabulous hats and everyone was out to have a great day! Sylvia’s daughter Beth was heavily involved carrying out duties as a bridesmaid and offering up a very haert warming speech towards the end of the day. I loved being a part of the wedding and was thrilled to have the opportunity to shoot at Notley!
Daniela & Barry

I recently shot the lovely Daniela and Barry’s wedding at Tewingbury Farm in Hertfordshire.
It was a stunning day, with the sun beaming and beautiful surroundings to capture some lovely shots. Daniela and Barry had made the venue look brilliant, gorgeous flowers and butterflies EVERYWHERE! Making it her perfect day, Daniela had customised her wedding shoes with butterflies and purple gems.
Just to add more excitement to the day Barry surprised Daniela with a brand new AUDI car, it was an amazing moment!!!
To finish off a brilliant day, the MARRIED couple danced the evening away with friends & family supplying the kids with glow sticks – lots of fun!!

Recently I was asked by my very talented friend Alex to photograph her studio space for her company by-alex. Alex makes all things imaginable out of gorgeous country style fabrics. Hey work is beautiful and very quirky. Having done a few shoots for Alex I am lucky anough to own a few of her lovely pieces and they really brighten up my home with lots of freinds commenting on where I got them from.
Not only is she a wizz on the sewing machine and has a great eye for design but she lives in a stunning cottage in Northamptonshire with her partner Andy. Here she stitches away all day on things such as cup cakes, ginger bread men and new designs which we are hoping to shoot later in the year. The cottage has been spotted and asked to go into a magazine for a “real home” feature, so Alex asked me to take some photographs of her house. I am only posting some of her studio just to wet your appetite for the feature that should be out sometime this Summer. I thought I would also post a few shots of some of my favorites from her range.
Be sure to get in touch should you want any of her country cottages pieces as a gift or even a little treat for yourself.

HI
Welcome to my new blog and thanks very much for stopping by. I am not going to waste time with a huge intro – instead just up-load some scruptious pics for you to look at.
A few weeks back I met the lovely Jessie Chorley and was totally blown away by her lovely vintage treats. I took some pictures of her stand and the gorgeous goodies she has on offer. Please go and check out her website! I bought myself a cute necklace and have not stopped wearing it since.
